  71. ZPAY Payroll Systems, Inc.  This document contains only a brief
  72. description of the package and its features, along with instructions for
  73. its installation.  Quite detailed documentation is included in the
  74. package, but it is in archived form, and is more easily read after
  75. installation.

  78. own computer, then ZPAY 3 is the program for you...

  80. ZPAY3 is a shareware program.  This evaluation version includes all
  81. features of the program, and is not crippled in any way.  You may use it
  82. for up to 30 days, without charge (see ZPAY3.DOC for more details).  If
  83. you like the program, and wish to continue its use after this evaluation
  84. period, you are required to pay for the program (see ZPAY3.DOC for more
  85. details).  Any fee you may have paid to others (disk vendors, dealers,
  86. etc.) to obtain this evaluation version was a fee for their copying and

  109. ===== Installation =====================================

  111. The installation procedure for ZPAY 3 is quite simple.  The package
  112. includes a program, "INSTALL.EXE", which automates the entire process.
  113. You will need about 2MB of available disk space on the hard drive on
  114. which you plan to install ZPAY 3.
  115.  
  116. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  117. ZPAY 3.
  118.  
  119.  
  120. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  121.  
  122. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  123.  
  124.    o  Place ZPAY 3's distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the
  125.       appropriate diskette drive.
  126.  
  127.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  128.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  129.       the MS-DOS command, "a:install".
  130.  
  131.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  132.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  133.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  134.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  135.       the ZPAY 3 files to that directory.  If you received ZPAY 3
  136.       on two diskettes, you will need to insert Disk 2 in the diskette
  137.       drive when asked to do so.  If you so direct it, the installation
  138.       program will install executable programs and documentation in
  139.       other directories of your choice.  It will make no other changes;
  140.       specifically, it will not modify your autoexec.bat or config.sys
  141.       files.

  144. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  145.  
  146. If you downloaded ZPAY 3 from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  147. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  148. following steps.
  149.  
  150.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  151.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  152.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  153.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  154.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  155.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  156.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  157.       the package.
  158.  
  159.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  160.       example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
  161.       the ZPAY 3 package is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute the MS-DOS
